The Farm shed

The Farm Shed in The Gardens was originally part of a farm that used to be here. The shed was used for thrashing with the help of a donkey, a horse or a pony that walked in circles all long.

Later on the Ruys family kept their horses here. The shed was also used for the nursery to prepare plants for export (United States and other countries). In the winter it was used for grafting and cuttings.

Nowadays the shed is used for various activities, such as exhibitions, parties, business meetings, lunches etc. The room still has the look of a barn inside with its cross beams. A new kitchen has been installed and meetings can take place for 30 to 60 persons depending on the set up. For more practical information see business arrangements.
